Since fall 2008, the Alamo Colleges District Greater Kerrville Center has been providing education and workforce training for residents of Kerr County and the surrounding communities. These opportunities are made possible through a partnership between the Alamo Colleges District and Kerrville Independent School District. The Greater Kerrville Center, the only non-private higher education facility in the area, is a 19,000 square foot facility that encompasses 11 state-of-the-art multimedia classrooms, including two wet labs for science classes and a nursing simulation lab. |

The facility was funded by a capital campaign. The Neil & Elaine Griffin Foundation donated $250,000 of the $2.2 million total raised. Additionally, the Neil & Elaine Griffin Foundation has donated more than $3.44 million toward an endowed scholarship for local students attending courses at the Greater Kerrville Center.
The local center offers academic core courses and is dedicated to providing affordable, high-quality workforce training to help workers attain the education and skills needed to meet the needs of the area.
The Greater Kerrville Center, in partnership with San Antonio College, offers an LVN to RN Career Mobility Nursing program and will begin offering the Nursing Generic (RN) program in 2025. The Center offers introductory and advanced welding programs and HSE/GED courses.
