Program Requirements

  • Applicant must have a minimum of 45 earned college credits from an American accredited institution. Credits must be applicable to a degree.
  • Applicant must not have been enrolled at a college or university within the past two years.
  • Applicant must not have earned a prior degree from a college or university.
  • Applicant shall complete degree requirements, to include college residency requirements at the college from which they will earn a degree and graduate within two calendar years.
  • Applicant must maintain continuous enrollment in at least 3 semester hours per semester (Fall, Spring, Summer) until graduation.
  • Applicant must be in good academic and disciplinary status at the last college of attendance, and if accepted, maintain good academic and disciplinary status to remain in the program (Must maintain 2.0 GPA).
  • Applicant must apply for Financial Aid every year and must not be in default on any prior educational loans, owe a Title IV refund, or have any prior outstanding balances with any of the Alamo Colleges.

Note: This program does not apply to special program fees (i.e. Nursing, Pilot Training, etc.). International students on visas are not eligible to participate in the Make A Comeback Program. Program eligibility tuition is at the in-district rate and the student is responsible for any tuition due beyond that amount, including 3-Peat fee.

All required documents must be submitted by the appropriate deadline in order for the Make A Comeback applications to be reviewed.

Fall & Fall Flex I Semesters  July 1

Step 1: Admission Process

  • Complete Make A Comeback Program Application
  • Complete Apply Texas Application online: www.applytexas.org
  • Submit official transcript(s) from all colleges and universities previously attended
  • Applications accepted only for Fall & Spring Semesters

    Note: Make A Comeback applications will not be reviewed until all required documents have been received. 

Step 2: Financial Aid Process

  • Complete Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.   Be sure FAFSA results and all required documents are submitted to the college financial aid office eight weeks before classes begin.
  • If you need additional assistance with processing your FAFSA on-line you may contact your college Financial Aid office at http://www.alamo.edu  or the Alamo Colleges Community Education Centers at http://www.alamo.edu/district/cec .
  • All financial aid (grants, scholarships, tuition assistance, and waivers) must be exhausted before Make A Comeback assistance is applied. (ETAP for employees is considered Tuition Assistance).

Step 3: Advisement Process

  • A college representative will contact you for an advising appointment to determine if you meet the Make A Comeback program requirements.  College advisor/counselor will evaluate your transcript(s).
  • Student must declare a major and commit to a Make A Comeback Academic Plan.

    (Completion of the Make A Comeback application does not guarantee program eligibility. All reviews at the college need to be completed and applicant will be notified.)

Note: Make a Comeback application will not be reviewed until all required documents have been received and processed. Students will be notified by email of Financial Aid processing results.
