Texas Educational Opportunity Grant Program (TEOG)

Grant was established to aid financially needy students enrolled at Texas public two-year colleges. Students who are eligible to participate may continue to receive funds for up to 4-years from the first award, for up to 75 attempted hours while receiving the grant, or until completion an associate's degree, whichever occurs first.

Initial Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be a Texas Resident
  • Apply for financial aid via the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Undocumented students must submit a completed HB1403 packet
  • Show financial need with an estimated family contribution (EFC) equal to or less than $4,800
  • Enroll in at least 6 credit hours per semester 
  • Be within the first 30 hours of college credit
  • Register for Selective Service or are exempt
  • Not been convicted of a felony or crime involving a controlled substance

Renewal Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be a Texas Resident
  • 75% successful completion of attempted hours
  • 2.50 GPA 
  • Apply for financial aid via the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Undocumented students must submit a completed HB1403 packet
  • Show financial need
  • Enroll in at least 6 credit hours per semester 
  • Not been convicted of a felony or crime involving a controlled substance

 Can I get Help: 

 The application process for Undocumented students includes the HB 1403 packet.  Students who need help completing the HB 1403 process can call the Community Education and Training Center for an appointment at the Brackenridge Center 210-485-0282, or at the Harlandale Center 210-977-1487.
