The Alamo Colleges use the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence as an organizational self-assessment and self-improvement framework to increase efficiency, operate effectively, and be accountable to all stakeholders. The Alamo Colleges educational and performance philosophy (Policy B.9.1) is called The Alamo Way: Always Inspire, Always Improve.

Baldrige helps us assess and improve the approach, deployment, learning (improvement), and integration of key management processes (1-6). It also helps us examine our performance and improvement in student learning outcomes; customer-focused outcomes; budgetary, financial, and market outcomes; employee-focused outcomes; process effectiveness outcomes; and leadership outcomes (7). This leads to increased value to stakeholders; organizational effectiveness, capabilities, and sustainability; and personal and organizational learning.
