Write an original poem about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and how his work, beliefs, and ideas are reflected in these 4 NVC values that we share today.
Community: We value a community in which all members are empowered to contribute as learners and learners, practicing and building mutual trust.
Caring: We value caring – for ourselves, for each other, and for this place – and exhibit that caring through service to others.
Synergy: We value working together to make our shared vision a reality, recognizing that the whole we can create together is greater than the sum of its parts.
Diversity: We value diversity, appreciating different ways of knowing and ways of living and recognizing that our diversity is a source of strength.
Entries must be original work and incorporate the idea or an example of each of the four values listed above. When submitting the poem, please include:
- Full Name
- Banner ID#
- Anticipated graduation/transfer year
Entries must be received in the Student Life Office, CCC 126, by 5pm on Feb 21, 2013. Email entries will also be accepted at firstname.lastname@example.org
The contest winner will receive a $100 Scholarship
