My Teamwork Training

My Teamwork is a full featured conferencing and collaboration tool that allows employees to have virtual meetings with internal and external entities. This session covers how to upload presentations and attachments, share a file or the entire desktop, use the instant messaging feature, view logs of past presentations, as well as how to record conference call phone conversations and more.

This two hour session provides a general overview of Elluminate. Elluminate is a tool used to enhance collaboration in online/distance education courses. The session will cover available virtual classroom tools such as the full-duplex audio functionality, the interactive whiteboard, instant messaging, and moderator tools. This course is intended for Faculty who wish to use Elluminate to enhance their online courses.

GE-01 Banner Overview/Navigation

This two hour session will begin with an introduction to Banner and cover details on Banner access and Security. The session will also familiarize you with the Banner Interface and help you navigate through the various Banner terminology, naming conventions, forms, menus and shortcuts. This course is a prerequisite for all other Banner Training.

FIN-01 Finance Overview for Support Personnel / Initiators

This four hour session will introduce you to the basic concepts of the Banner Finance System. The differences between the previous Finance system (Advantage) and the new Banner Finance system will be discussed. You will be introduced to the elements of the Chart of Accounts (FOAPL). You will learn how to monitor your budget, revenue and expenses and prepare budget transfers. Querying techniques will be demonstrated and you will learn to research journal entries.

FIN-02 Finance Overview for Budget Managers & Approvers

This four hour session is for Budget managers and second-level approvers who have the budget responsibility for a department. This course will introduce you to the basic concepts of the Banner Finance System. The differences between the previous Finance system (Advantage) and the new Banner Finance system will be discussed. You will be introduced to the elements of the Chart of Accounts (FOAPL). You will learn how to monitor your budget and approve or disapprove documents, look up approval history and perform budget queries. In addition, the course will address the roles and responsibilities of budget managers.

FIN-03 Procurement & Payments Training for Support Personnel / Initiators

This four hour session will introduce you to the purchasing processes using the Banner Finance System. This class is intended for the support staff that will use the Banner Finance System to initiate requisitions and receive purchases, follow up on requisitions, open PO's, vendor codes, commodity codes and related information. Using the guidelines of the Acquisition Department you will learn to track your requests and related encumbrances. You will learn to complete the key forms of the purchasing module. This course will also explain Stores Requisitions and the Direct Pay process.

FIN-06 Library Purchase Orders

[Training provided by Acquisitions Dept] This four hour session will introduce librarians to the purchasing process for library holdings using the Banner Finance System. The class is intended for support staff to initiate library purchase orders (LPO) and receive those purchases. A brief overview of vendor and commodity code searches and other inquiries will be included in the session.

FIN-07 Direct Pays - Multiple Invoices Training

This one hour course is an advanced session regarding multiple invoices within direct pays and is intended for Support Personnel/Initiators who have completed Banner Finance Training. Creating a direct pay with multiple vendor invoices allows you to create an unencumbered/uncommitted payment for a vendor (payee) with more than one invoice. (ie. Pay a catering company with multiple invoices with one direct pay).

FIN-08 - Banner Self Service

Banner Finance Self Service is a secure web-based tool that allows Banner users the convenience of quickly doing many common tasks without having to log into the regular Banner System. Banner Self Service works in conjunction with regular Banner Finance. As a result, anyone with regular Banner Finance rights has the same right available in Banner Self Service; updates done in either Banner Self Service or regular Banner Finance are available in either system in real time. Banner Self Service provides a more flexible and user-friendly interface than regular Banner and can be accessed via any internet connection.
