The Alamo Colleges are the smart choice for students seeking to reshape their future. Whether you are enrolling in college for the first time or returning to continue your college education, we offer what you need to achieve success.

Whether seeking one of our more than 425 degrees and certificates that transfer to leading four-year institutions or focusing on technical courses that train you for in-demand, high paying careers, the Alamo Colleges is the right start.

As the area's only community colleges, many of our programs are the only one of their kind in the San Antonio area.  The Alamo Colleges:

  • allow anyone with a high school diploma or GED to enroll easily and provide plenty of support to help you succeed.
  • offer the most affordable tuition in the area and provide more than $100 million in financial aid each year to make a college education as accessible as possible to everyone.
  • rank first in Texas community colleges in federal financial aid awards.
  • offer classes at six college campuses and three satellite locations to maximize convenience.
  • provide more hours of Internet instruction than any other institution in the state, plus day, evening and weekend classes.
  • extend a high level of support with a caring, welcoming atmosphere that makes the prospect of attending and succeeding in college less daunting.
  • maintains a generally smaller class size than those at four-year universities that are taught by dedicated, well-qualified faculty with master's or doctorate degrees.
  • provide advising and counseling services, tutoring, reading and writing labs, transfer advising and career counseling, along with special services for veterans, disabled students and women.

To help ensure our students receive a top quality education, our colleges feature some of the best, most up-to-date facilities for teaching and learning in the country, including classrooms and labs equipped with the latest in equipment and technology, well-equipped computer labs and state-of-the-art libraries.
