Introduction to Project Management

Content includes Project management definition and principles, Project manager and the team, Project planning, Project scheduling, and Controlling the project. Project Management is a field that is growing in popularity and has been recognized as an integral part of today’s business environment. This course is designed to introduce the theories of project management. This class is a basic overview of ideas and does not go deep into any particular project methodology. During the course of the class you will discuss such topics as: Defining and managing stakeholders; Gathering project requirements; Defining your scope; Performing Risk Management; Managing your project team. We also take time in the class to discuss and analyze a personal work or home project. This discussion will reinforce many of the topics that you are introduced to and should help in making your project run smoother. This class is a prerequisite to the Intermediate Project Management Course & PMP Certification course.  2 days (16 hours)

 

Intermediate to Project Management

This class is designed for individuals with some project management experience.  The framework of project management will be presented as prescribed by the Project Management Institute. (PMI)  The course instruction is based on the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), and is an excellent prep course for PMI's Certified Associate In Project Mangement (CAMP) credential.  The focus is on learning fundamental project management theory, terminology, and testing strategies.  Students who successfully complete this class may consider the 5-day Project Management Professional (PMP) prep course, PMP Certification Test Prep. Intermediate to Project Management is a 2 day course. (16 hours)


 

PMI Certification Test Prep

Topics include initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing a project. Participants will understand the tools and techniques leading to a successful project. The PMP is a globally recognized credential demonstrating the holder has the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to successfully complete projects. It is also used to show your dedication to the profession and the professional development needed to earn and keep the certification. This course is designed to give students the information they’ll need to tackle the 4hr, 200 question test. The coursework is comprised of lecture, case studies and practice tests to help prepare the student for parsing the questions and help navigate the tricky exam. By the end of the course the student should feel more prepared yet also have an understanding of what areas require more attention before they schedule the exam. 5 days (40 hours)

 

ITIL Foundations v3

An interactive, intensive, 3-day course focused on the Foundation Certification IT Service Management (ITSM) as prescribe in Version 3 of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).  In this course, the student will prepare for the ITIL Foundation v3 exam while learning the main ITIL concepts.  outcomes include: to make IT Services more customer focused, to ensure the quality and cost of IT Services are managed appropriately, to develop a clearer structure for the IT organization, making it more efficient, to make IT changes easier to manage, to have a uniform frame of reference for international communications regarding IT, to standardize and integrate IT procedures, and to define demonstrable and auditable performance measurements. 3 days (24 hours)

 

Agile Essentials

This certification is appropriate for anyone interested in getting familiar with the concepts and practices of Agile Project Delivery, and also for those individuals desiring to have a working knowledge of the various Agile methodologies.  Agile relies on adaptive planning and iterative development and deliver.  It focuses primarily on the valure of people in getting the job done effectively and efficiently.  Students will learn the concepts of Agile development and the knowledge to compare and choose the Agile methodology most appropriate for their work environment.  2 days (16 hours)

 

ScrumMaster Certified (SMC™)

This certification is appropriate for anyone who is interest in working as a Scrum Master.  Scrum Master Certified (SMC) professionals are facilitators who ensure that the Scrum Team is provided with an environment conducive to completing the project successfully.  The Scrum Master guides, facilitates, and teachers Scrum practices to everyone involved in the project; clears impediments for the team; and, ensures that Scrum processes are being followed.  Successful candidates will be awarded the Scrum Master Certified Certification by SCRUMstudy after passing the certification exam.  (2 days 16 hours)
