Introduction to Project Management
Content includes Project management definition and principles, Project manager and the team, Project planning, Project scheduling, and Controlling the project. Project Management is a field that is growing in popularity and has been recognized as an integral part of today’s business environment. This course is designed to introduce the theories of project management to all Rackers. This class is a basic overview of ideas and does not go deep into any particular project methodology. During the course of the class you will discuss such topics as: Defining and managing stakeholders; Gathering project requirements; Defining your scope; Performing Risk Management; Managing your project team. We also take time in the class to discuss and analyze a personal work or home project. This discussion will reinforce many of the topics that you have just been introduced to and should help in making your project run smoother. This class is a pre-requisite to both the PMP Certification course and the Scrum Agile Project Methodology course. 2 days 16 hours.
PMI Certification Test Prep
Topics include initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing a project. Participants will understand the tools and techniques leading to a successful project. The PMP is a globally recognized credential demonstrating the holder has the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to successfully complete projects. It is also used to show your dedication to the profession and the professional development needed to earn and keep the certification. This course is designed to give Rackers the information they’ll need to tackle the 4hr, 200 question test. The coursework is comprised of lecture, case studies and practice tests to help prepare the student for parsing the questions and help navigate the tricky exam. By the end of the course the student should feel more prepared yet also have an understanding of what areas require more attention before they schedule the exam. 5 days, 40 hours.
