Gabe Vidaurri
Gabe is one of the Instructional Skills Specialists for Mathematics in the NVC Advocacy Center. He holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Texas at San Antonio and an A.S. in General Studies from Northwest Vista College. He has worked as a tutor in the math labs for over 3 years. In the past, he hosted meetings for the tutors in the lab to learn mathematical proofs and propositional logic, concepts from higher mathematics. He is currently working on furthering his education in Computer Science and is an adjunct instructor for math at NVC.

Jeff Edwards
Jeff is one of the Instructional Skills Specialists for Mathematics in the NVC Advocacy Center. He holds a Bachelor’s in Music
Education from the University of Northern Colorado and an A.S. in Home
Building from St. Philip’s College. He is currently pursuing an M.S. in Applied Statistics from the University of the Incarnate Word. He will complete his degree in the fall of 2013. He retired from the Air Force in 1999. When he returned to school, he noticed the weaknesses in math skills of other students and believed he could help. He taught public school math for 3 years and decided he needed to deal with adults. He has been tutoring at NVC for 7 years (off and on). He hopes to teach part time at NVC.

David Marotta
David holds an A.S. in Engineering from San Antonio College. He is currently pursuing his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He is also a full-time employee for Bexar County Public Works as the Division Safety and Training Coordinator. He is the V.P. of Golden Key International Honor Society and is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa. He is on the scholarship committee for TX Public Works Association. He is an Operation Enduring Freedom Veteran in addition to Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Michael holds an A.S. in Mathematics and an A.A. in General Studies from Northwest Vista College. He is currently seeking his undergraduate degree in Accounting at Texas A&M University San Antonio.

Rod is a recent transfer from Northwest Vista into UTSA’s College of Engineering. He is pursuing his undergraduate degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering.

Rob holds a B.S. in Meteorology from the
University of the Incarnate Word and an A.A. and A.S. in Science from
Northwest Vista College. He also attended Greenville Technical
College. He is currently taking computer science courses at NVC.

Paula Englebert
Paula holds an A.A. in Teaching from Northwest Vista College circa 2012. She is currently pursuing a B.S. in Mathematics with a minor in Teaching at Texas A&M University San Antonio. She is originally from England, but calls San Antonio her home for now. She has three children, in middle school and higher. She returned full-time to education in 2010 and really enjoys working in the math labs. Her goal is to become math teacher.

Daniela Magnone
Daniela holds an A.S. in Mathematics from Northwest Vista College. She has been a tutor at Northwest Vista for over a year. She has completed over 97 college credit hours, including 10 math classes. She has taken up to Calculus III and has a 4.0 GPA. She was the student of the month for the Alamo College District May 2012 and was nominated by her math teacher, Mat Roy.

He has 3 years experience working as an engineer, 27 years experience working as a USAF Officer, 15 years experience working as a program manager at the Corporation of America, and has been an adjunct math instructor for 4 years.

Kenneth holds an A.S. in Computer Science and an A.A. in General Studies from Northwest Vista College. He is currently pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science from St. Mary’s University. His
interests include artificial intelligence, computer graphics, game
development, music, cinema, independent study, gaming, reading,
education, mathematics, programming, creative writing, and character
development. His goals include receiving an M.S.C.S. from UT Austin and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon.

Travis is a recent transfer into the University of Texas at San Antonio from Northwest Vista College. He is pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at UTSA. He has been tutoring for over 2 years. The highest math class he took was Differential Equations.

Mohamed Meddouri
Mohammed holds an M.S. in Inorganic Chemistry from France and an M.S. in Material Science from Algeria. He
is currently pursuing an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the
University of Texas at San Antonio with plans to graduate in December of
2013. Afterwards he will be starting a Ph.D. program. He would like to have an academic and industrial career with a lot of research and creation. He likes reading, sports, cooking, and taking care of his two kids. He is proud of his two children and lovely wife.

Amorette Rockenbaugh
Amorette holds a B.A. in Mathematics from the University of Texas at El Paso and an A.A. in General Studies from the University of Maryland University College. She holds a CRLA Level III Master Tutor certification from El Paso Community College. Her interests include reading, writing, cycling, rowing, and traveling. He enjoys teaching math. He has taught for Northside Independent School District for 32 years and has taught at NVC for the last 3 years.

Sibel received her BSN degree from nursing college in Izmir, Turkiye. She is currently a student at Northwest Vista as a M.I.M. student with plans to transfer to Texas A&M – San Antonio to complete a B.S. in Mathematics. She is a former GED math instructor with Northside Independent School District and a former math tutor of the Charter H.S. in San Antonio. She has worked at the Department of Defense Schools (DODS) as a substitute teacher.
