As an institutional requirement for all students, and in compliance with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, San Antonio College provides a freshmen orientation program, which contributes to a student’s success and persistence in college. Students are required to enroll in Student Development when they initially register at San Antonio College.
Students who have less than 15 credit hours at the time of their first enrollment at San Antonio College are required to enroll in Student Development SDEV 0170 or SDEV 0370 in their first semester depending on test scores utilized for admission. SDEV 0370 is recommended for students needing remediation in two or more areas of English, mathematics and reading. It is required for students needing full remediation in English, mathematics, and reading. See course descriptions in the San Antonio College Bulletin for additional information.
