HITT 1005 - Medical Terminology (48 Hrs)
An in-depth study of word origin and structure through the introduction of prefixes, suffixes, root words, plurals, abbreviations and symbols, surgical procedures, medical specialties, and diagnostic procedures.
Instruction is given in the practical application of a medical vocabulary system. Topics include structure; recognition; analysis; definitions; spelling; pronunciation; and combination of medical terms from prefixes, suffixes, roots, and combining forms. Define terms and abbreviations which apply to the structural organization of the body; recognize and analyze terms and their components from a list including prefixes, suffixes, roots, and combining forms; identify correct pronunciation, spelling, and definitions of medical terms; and interpret correctly the contents of a written patient scenario.
