It is each student’s responsibility to follow all immigration regulations that apply to their F-1 student status. Failure to maintain the terms and conditions of your status is grounds for removal from the United States. F-1 students should adhere to the following in order to maintain their status. If you have any questions, contact your international advisor .

  •  Report to the Principal School Official or the Designated School Official for initial registration in Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) when you arrive at your Alamo College
  • Register for 12 semester hours at your Alamo College (excluding your last term and official school breaks)
  • Complete studies before the program completion date listed on the Form I-20
  • Depart from United States on or before the sixty (60) day grace period unless you have applied for practical training, have moved educational levels, or have transferred to a different college before completing your course of study
  • Notify international student services or your international advisor within 10 days of moving to a new address
  • Abide by the laws of the United States (conviction of a crime may result in deportation)
  • Do not begin on or off-campus employment without authorization
