Mission: At the Alamo Colleges-Palo Alto College, academic advising and career advising builds a culture of integrated practices and shared responsibilities. Through collaborative teaching and learning, the advising process empowers our diverse student populations to explore and navigate their academic and career pathways.

 Science Technology Engineering Arts Math (STEAM) Advising Center

The STEAM Advising Center assists students who are studying programs in the science, technology, engineering, arts, communications, humanities, and math areas. Your assigned advisor will assist you with developing a degree plan, registering for courses, completing a financial aid appeal, exploring careers, and researching transfer opportunities.

The SEED Advising Center assists students who are studying programs in education, criminal justice, kinesiology, social work, and sociology.  Business Opportunities Leadership Demand Occupations (BOLD)
 Advising Center

The BOLD Advising Center assists students who are studying programs in business, aviation, landscape, logistics, psychology, advertising/public relations, and other career and technical education degrees and certificates. Your assigned advisor will assist you with developing a degree plan, registering for courses, completing a graduation application, completing a financial aid appeal, exploring careers, and researching transfer opportunities.

 Veterans Affairs

The Office of Veterans Affairs assists students who are receiving VA benefits or Hazelwood Exemptions. Your assigned advisor will assist you with processing your benefits, developing a degree plan, registering for courses, completing a financial aid appeal, exploring careers, and researching transfer opportunities.

 TRiO Student Support Services

The TRiO Student Support Services Program assists students who have been accepted into the TRiO program who are Low-income OR First-generation college student (neither parent graduated from college) OR Disabled (documented disability on file with Disabilities Support Services). Your assigned advisor will assist you with becoming involved on campus, developing a degree plan, registering for courses, completing a financial aid appeal, exploring careers, and researching transfer opportunities.

 Faculty Advisors

Faculty Advisors are available to help students with questions regarding major requirements, transfer opportunities, course information, and career exploration. Students may visit with a faculty advisor at any time once they have decided on a program of study.

 Counselors

Counselors are available to assist students with personal or mental counseling. They also provide advising to new transfer students and returning students who have been out of school for more than one year. Additionally, counselors will assist students with the petition process for Academic Dismissal.
