Important Note About Transferring Courses: Most Universities will only accept
66 hours of transferrable college-level credits towards a Bachelor's degree.

Planning to transfer?

Career and Transfer Services (CaTS) offers current information on transfer plans, joint admissions agreements, transfer equivalencies, or general core requirements. Students have access to computers to conduct searches for all university admission requirements. We will help you find the answers!

Are you ready to transfer?

Each year hundreds of students transfer from Northwest Vista College to 4-year schools.  It is never to early to start transfer planning. If you are thinking about transferring, there are things you can do right now to insure a smooth transition:

1. You can start your journey toward successful transfer by researching possible colleges/universities and their requirements.

2. Visit colleges/universities, attend NVC Transfer Fairs, and attend CaTS Transfer Workshops.

3. Make an appointment with your transfer advisor to discuss your transfer plans.

Contact Career and Transfer Services

If you are thinking about going on to a 4-year school, we can help you get there.  Just give us a call.

Choices 360 is an interactive tool to help you search for colleges and universities that are in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.

College Catalogs, Admissions and Program Information

Career and Transfer Services has a comprehensive resource library to help students through the transfer process. Included are a broad range of resources such as a collection of college catalogs, college reference books, a transfer services website complete with transfer-related links, application viewbooks and materials.  We will also assist students in conducting web-based searches for on-line catalogs.  We can help you with many aspects of your application for admission to your university.

Community Days -- University Campus Visits

Representatives from local and state-wide colleges and universities regularly visit Northwest Vista College to provide students the opportunity to discuss transfer admissions and requirements, financial aid and scholarships, and to answer questions.  Check out the roster for monthly campus visitors on CaTS Calendar of Events.

Advisor On Campus (AOC)

Advisors from partnering universities are available on campus by appointment for transfer planning. Call (210) 486-4126 to set up appointment. Check to see if walk-in advising is available.

Reverse Transfer Degree

Although it is highly recommended that you complete your associate degree, there are times that transferring may be your best plan. You can still get your associate degree from NVC if you have successfully completed a minimum 15 hours at NVC and then send back to NVC official transcripts for evaluation. You will be awarded a degree when you have completed the required courses totaling 60 hours. Earning your associate degree gives you more opportunity while you are completing your bachelor’s degree.
