  The Board of Trustees for the Alamo Colleges District & La Prensa Foundation provides an opportunity for us to recognize some of our exceptional students and highlight their accomplishments through designation as Student of the Month.  Each Month one college selects an individual as the Student of the Month for the Alamo Colleges District.
San Antonio College will select the Alamo Colleges
District & La Prensa Inspirational Student of the Month.
The recipient will be recognized at the monthly Board meeting and receive a plaque and a $500 award from La Prensa Foundation.  Please consider nominating one of our many outstanding students for this honor.  Nomination Forms can be found in either the Office of the Vice President for Student and Academic Success (FAC 309) , the Office of Student Life located in the Loftin Student Center (LSC).  Please submit your nominations via email Submit button or print and return to  Office of the Vice President for Student and Academic Success  (FAC 309).   Click for Nomination Form


  • Be enrolled for 6 or more hours;
  • Be in good standing with the college;
  • Have completed a minimum of 15 semester hours;
  • Have at least a 3.0 GPA


  • Applicants will be submitted to the Vice President for Student and Academic Success Office for review and selection of the student.
  • The recipient will be notified by the Vice President for Student and Academic Success and invited to the monthly Board Meeting.
  • The Student selected will be featured on the Alamo College web page for a month, will receive a plaque and a check for $500 from La Prensa Foundation, to be presented at the regular Board Meeting by the Chairman or a member of the Academic Accountability and Student Success Committee, the College President and/or the student affairs officer from the College the student is representing.  Should the recipient be unable to attend the Board Meeting, he/she must send a representative to accept the award on their behalf. Announcements of the award may also be used in college publications and/or newspapers (with a signed release from the student.)
