META Scholarship Program

Motivating Engineers To Achieve

META Scholarships are available through and NSF - S-STEM (META) program for San Antonio College Engineering Majors.  Entry to the program is competitive and those chosen to participate in the program can receive up to $10,000 in scholarship money every year (depending on their unmet financial need).  If chosen for the program, META Scholars must become a MESA member and complete the MESA membership requirements.  In addition to the MESA requirements, META scholars must:

  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA and full-time enrollment
  • Meet twice a semester with an assigned faculty advisor and adhere closely to the Engineering (CIP14) degree plan
  • Attend META Scholar orientation
  • Complete 5 hours of volunteerism through MESA sponsored events
  • Participate in a minimum of two META activities such as workshops, guest speaking events, conferences, and/or field trips

META Scholar Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen, National, Refugee, or Permanent Resident
  • Must be majoring in Engineering (CIP14) and enrolled full-time with San Antonio College as your home institution
  • Must maintain a 2.5 GPA or better
  • Must demonstrate financial need through a completed FASFA and be in good standing with our Financial Aid Office
  • Must submit your completed application packet no later than Oct. 01, 2014 for Spring 2015 consideration
