Student Leadership Institute April 26 Graduation Ceremony

The Alamo Colleges Student Leadership Institute (SLI) Tier I and Tier II student leaders participated in the 2011-2012 Completion and Recognition Ceremony on April 26, 2012, at St. Philip’s College. Alamo Colleges Administrators, Student Leadership Institute faculty and staff, and family and friends, joined the sixty scholars celebrate their hard work, joys, growth and many successes. As a group, the SLI student leaders contributed more than 9900 hours of community and college service, while maintaining a combined average GPA of 3.34.

The 2011-2012 student leaders completed an intensive, interactive program which helped build a strong foundation in leadership by providing the knowledge, skills, theory, and application to become proactive and productive leaders on campus, in the workplace, and in the community. The objectives of the Student Leadership Institute include: fostering opportunities for students to develop leadership competencies while working on projects of social and civic engagement; enabling students to network with peers, experts, and organizations; encouraging students to conduct reflection on personal leadership values and experiences; and cultivating relationships and internship opportunities with state and national leadership institutes – from academia politics, government, nonprofit and for-profit organizations.

  • The Ranger Special Edition Issue

    The staff of The Ranger/The Ranger Online, student newspaper at San Antonio College, has produced a special edition with information on the Alamo Colleges trustee election. The edition, which hit stands April 25, also pays tribute to The Ranger's 90th anniversary. The election section includes photos and interviews with the 11 candidates for the four open trustee positions, an editorial encouraging voting, and a map showing the four districts up for election. The editorial stresses the importance of voters in shaping the direction of the Alamo Colleges. Early voting starts April 25, and the election is May 7. Read More >
  • Alamo Colleges Bond Sale Notice

    Alamo Community College District (“Alamo Colleges”, “the District”) is currently planning to access the capital markets the week of May 23rd, 2016. The District anticipates selling approximately $70 million Limited Tax Refunding Bonds Series 2016 via negotiated sale. The final size and structure of the transaction has not yet been determined and is subject to change.
