Palo Alto College earns SACS reaccreditation

Palo Alto College received reaffirmation of accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the regional accrediting body for degree-granting higher education institutions in 11 U.S. Southern states.

Accreditation indicates an institution maintains specified educational objectives consistent with its mission and appropriate to the degrees it offers, while having the resources, programs, and services to do so. Palo Alto College has been SACS accredited since 1987. With the 2012 reaffirmation, Palo Alto College is fully accredited until 2022. SACS examines college operations and makes recommendations on how to improve the effectiveness of the institution by ensuring that the college meets standards established by the higher education community that address the needs of society and students.

Palo Alto College President Dr. Ana M. ‘Cha’ Guzmán praised the faculty and staff at Palo Alto for their service to complete the SACS report and achieving a 10-year accreditation. “It is most rewarding when a reaccreditation committee recognizes that Palo Alto College has a high performance team who has diligently worked to achieve excellence in education,” she said.
