San Antonio College Nursing students and faculty recently participated in the annual Mass Casualty exercise in San Antonio.
The purpose of the event is to assist healthcare systems in San Antonio prepare in the event of a disaster.
The 150 students and faculty were mock victims in the exercise on Nov. 14 and went to a variety of local hospitals to assist with the training. There were students at Christus Santa Rosa Westover Hills, University Hospital, Downtown Baptist, and SAMCEE. Students were able to evaluate healthcare professionals responsibilities and duties during a crisis event.
