NVC Parking Garage Half Way Done

Less than a year of construction, the new parking garage at Northwest Vista College is already 50 percent complete. It’s estimated that the garage could be open by the upcoming fall semester.

The 255,636-square-foot parking garage is being constructed in Lot 6, adjacent to Huisache Hall and the Boardwalk. While approximately 300 parking spaces are unavailable during construction, the completed garage will provide nearly 750 parking spaces.

Additionally, the Alamo Colleges Board of Trustees recently approved for the installation of solar panels on the roof of the NVC garage. The energy generated from the panels will be used to help power the garage and Huisache Hall.

Financial savings from the garage could be used to build a walking bridge over the pond between Juniper and Live Oak Halls.
