President Reno Named 2013 Pacesetter

Dr. Eric Reno, NLC President, was named the 2013 Pacesetter of the Year by the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) for District 4 on October 1.

The Pacesetter of the Year Award recognizes a president or CEO at a two-year community or technical college or district office who has demonstrated leadership and support in the area of college communications and marketing.

Dr. Reno was recognized for his use of public relations in developing a new college and building relationships and partnerships with the community the college serves. His relationship-building and continued support of the College’s marketing efforts, provided the foundation that Northeast Lakeview College needs to continues to grow.

District 4 encompasses the states of Arkansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming. The Pacesetter Award is presented annually in each of NCMPR's seven districts and district winners are then considered for the national award.

The National Council for Marketing & Public Relations is the only organization of its kind that represents marketing and public relations professionals at community and technical colleges. NCMPR's primary focus is on supporting the professional growth and providing professional development opportunities for communications professionals at two year institutions.
