Grace Morales is the recipient of the September 2013 La Prensa Foundation Inspirational Student of the Month award and will receive $500 funded by La Prensa Foundation founded by Amelia and Tino Duran.

Grace Morales was born in San Antonio and graduated high school in 2002. She started her career as a Pharmacy Technician. Realizing that helping others is her passion so she decided to pursue a career in nursing. She is a first generation college student in her family with a 3.28 GPA at Northwest Vista College. She is a Nursing major and part time employee on campus. She is a proud wife and mother of two children, Isaiah and Emily.

Grace has grown into a great leader at NVC. She is an NVC Ambassador and an Alamo Colleges Student Leadership Institute Alumnus. In addition to many campus events, she has volunteered with Meals on Wheels, the Rock and Roll Marathon, and Christus Santa Rosa Westover Hills Hospital. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and National Honor Society of Leadership and Success. Grace is a great role model to all parents that coming back to school to achieve your goals can be done.

This summer Grace completed her Associates Degree in Allied Health at Northwest Vista and she plans on to pursuing her Bachelors in Nursing at Wayland Baptist University in San Antonio. Given her dedication for education and helping others, Grace is sure to achieve her goals.

Grace Morales truly exemplifies the kind of student Northwest Vista College is proud to honor with the Alamo Colleges Student of the Month.
