We Are The Champions

  The SAC Speech Team continues its legacy. After attending four weekend tournaments this past semester, the group ended its tournament season this past weekend, November 1st-3rd. Along they way, they racked up a whopping total of 36 awards and accolades, including “Top Speaker in the State,” a title SAC has held since 1992.  

Traversing the lands, the SAC Speech Team sought out on four separate weekend adventures to attend the Hill Country Swing Tournament, Rice University Classic Tournament, Bayou City Swing Tournament and the Fall TIFA Tournament/Central Texas College Invitational Tournament.  

Members of the SAC Speech Team who completed include: Kirk Cox, Nathan Prince, Terran Duhon, Esau Perez, and newcomer, Anzlie Lowak. Collectively the team won a whopping 36 awards.  

Duhon took home the “Top Speaker of the State” among two- and four-year colleges at the Texas Intercollegiate Forensics Association Fall State Tournament on November 1-3rd; the entire team was awarded the “Top Limited Entry Individual Events at State Tournament” honor; and Lowak earned the award for “Top Novice in Informative Speaking.”    

The SAC Speech Team will perform a showcase at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26th in McCreless Theatre.
