Alamo Colleges' Launches New Splashpage for Summer 2014 Registration
As part of its continuing efforts to streamline operations, and improve processes, the Alamo Colleges is launching a new Registration Splashpage, which all students will be required to complete each semester before they can register. It will be accessible through the Alamo Colleges Education Services (ACES) portal at alamo.edu.
The Registration Splashpage is a customized web page that provides for:
• Verification of important information, such as student ID number, date of birth, tuition and major
• Updating of emergency contact information (current address, phone number(s) and email address
• Opting out of the release of directory information in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
• Responding to a survey that will provide data that will improve services to students
Verifying student information will help the Alamo Colleges to contact students quickly with key deadlines and other critical messages, including emergency notifications. The survey information will be used in planning, and in applying for grants that will allow the Alamo Colleges to provide improved services for students. The survey results also will provide data required for state reports in a more efficient and timely manner.
Beginning March 17, students will be able to access the Splashpage in the ACES Student Tab. Once a student has submitted the Splashpage information, he/she will be allowed to register when summer registration begins on March 24. Beginning March 24, the Splashpage will pop up automatically when a student selects Registration in ACES.
