Math Refresher Courses Available

Math refreshers are short courses designed to help students brush up on their math skills and take the placement test with renewed confidence. Refreshers are usually offered in a one-week format. In these courses, students work with a personalized computer program called ALEKS and have an instructor available to answer whatever questions they have.

Refreshers are ideal for students who have seen the material before, but just need a review.

At the end of the refresher, students re-test, which tells them exactly which course they are eligible to take. It may be a college level course, or it may be a developmental course to help prepare them more deeply for the college level courses. Either way, taking a refresher benefits students by getting them into the right class as quickly as possible. Once students finish the refresher, students will know exactly what course is right for them.

Currently enrolled students may register through ACES. Students who are not currently enrolled should contact the Math Department or Assessment Center Advisor for assistance.

For more information call 486-0170, visit the math department in McCreless Hall 221 or for a schedule go here.
