2014 LULAC Parent/Child Scholarship Accepting Applications

The San Antonio College Empowerment Center is accepting applications for their 2014 LULAC Parent/Child Scholarship. This unique opportunity offers benefits for both the parent, and the child.

The parent would receive $250 per semester ($1,000) for four consecutive semesters – fall and spring only – if enrolled at an Alamo College.

The child would be eligible to claim a two-year tuition and fee scholarship to attend any Alamo College after their high school graduation, when the parent completes an education goal – certificate, associate degree or university transfer.

Twenty-five scholarships will be awarded this year.

Priority deadline to apply is July 15, 2014.

Other requirements:

Have a child age six or younger

Attend classes at an Alamo College in Fall 2014

Have less than 30 college level hours

Visit SAC Empowerment Center at 703 Howard St, call 486-0455 or visit their website at www.alamo.edu/sac/swans/scholarships. You can also contact Berth Castellanos for questions or more information at bcastellanos6@alamo.edu.

The program is sponsored by the San Antonio College Women’s Center, Services for Women and Non-traditional Students, in conjunction with LULAC Council #2 and the Alamo Colleges Foundation.
