The Information Technology Department provides planning, coordination,
installation, and maintenance of campus technology and it provides technical
support to all academic, student and administrative units. We also provide
recommendations for purchasing, equipment setup, installation of hardware and
software, implementation of off-campus connectivity, and assists other
departments with planning.

Why do we have to
ACES is being upgraded in order to
provide a cleaner, more streamlined and less
cluttered version with faster hardware, increased stability, and the ability for
students to access their Alamo Colleges email without a second login. Otherwise,
it will be quite similar to “old” ACES.
How do I get to “new”
Please click the login to ACES tab on any of the
Alamo Colleges home pages, or access the login page directly at:

Use your existing ACES username (for example, jgarcia123).
Your default password will be used for the first login only.
Your default password will be the first two letters of your last name,
IN CAPS, followed by your birthdate in MMDDYY format. For example:
John Garcia, born on June 17, 1965, will use GA061765. If your last name and
login name are different (usually due to a change in marital status), use the
first two letters of your actual, current last name.

How do I log in after the first
As soon as you log in the first time, you will be prompted
to change your password. If you wish, you may change it to the password you were
using with “old” ACES. For all subsequent logins, please use the password you
How do I bookmark ACES or change
my old bookmarks (favorites)?
Because the URL (web address) for ACES has changed, you
will need to bookmark “new” ACES on all computers you use regularly. Bookmarks
are retained on each machine and in each web browser (IE, Chrome, Safari,
Firefox, etc.), so you may need to bookmark “new” ACES more than once. If you
have “old” ACES bookmarked, please edit the URL from aces.alamo.edu (old)
to alamoaces.alamo.edu (new).

Alamo Colleges is providing Microsoft Office to every student free of charge. This means the latest version of the full Office productivity suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and more available for offline and online use to best prepare you for class. To get your Office follow these simple steps:
- For PC and Mac:
- Go to the Office365 school verification page
- Click through to sign in with school-provided credentials & download
- On the installation page select your language and click install
- For iOS and Android:
- Download from your app store
- iPad: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Sign in with your school credentials for full editing capability

Alamo_Guest is now available
The Alamo Colleges have updated the "ACCD_Unsecured_Guest" Wi-Fi network name to "ALAMO_Guest".
This name change will not impact the service or behavior of Alamo Colleges' open wireless network. If you currently
have a wireless device that connects to "ACCD_Unsecured_Guest" wireless network you will need to reconfigure your device to
the new wireless network name of "ALAMO_Guest". This name change took place on August 8, 2014.
