Admissions

All students must take the THEA test or alternative THEA test (Accuplacer and essay) prior to enrolling in college-level courses or be exempt.

Step 1 Admission and Enrollment Services Office

  • submit official high school transcript with graduation date or GED if a first time college student
  • submit official transcripts from each college or university previously attended
  • complete a Apply Texas Application. Be sure to indicate whether you will be transcripted as a St. Philip's or San Antonio College student.
  • clear admission holds

Step 2 Advising and Assessment, if applicable

  • submit official THEA scores or alternative THEA Test score
  • submit official SAT or ACT scores, if available
  • take Placement or THEA alternative test

Step 3 Counseling Center

  • see a counselor or faculty advisor if you need general counseling
  • see a counselor or/Director of Admissions and Enrollment Services for admission if you are on enforced scholastic probation or if on dismissal from a previous school
  • seek readmission if on permanent scholastic withdrawal by appealing to the dean of your major field

Step 4 Register

  • early by Web
  • for required remedial courses(s) before registering in college-level courses
  • on-campus during late registration

Step 5 Student Financial Services

  • check financial aid status if applicable by calling Student Financial Aid Office at SAC 733-2150, SPC 531-3272
