Judson ISD Graduates

(August 14, 2008) Dr. Eric Reno, Northeast Lakeview College (NLC) President, addresses the graduates of the College Connection: Making Dreams A Reality “Pre-Academic Camp.”

The students participated in a two-week summer camp on the college campus as part of the grant NLC received through the TG Public Benefit Program.  The camp is designed to provide recent Judson ISD high school graduates with an opportunity to review fundamental concepts in reading and math and prepare them with the skills needed to successfully begin college. 76% of participating students increased their Accuplacer scores enough to gain a minimum of one level in math or reading classes.  All of these students received a TG scholarship to attend Northeast Lakeview College in the Fall and received a $200 stipend for their participation. The camp completed the the College Connection: Making Dreams A Reality project. Northeast Lakeview College plans to offer a similar program next summer.
