DANC 1301  Composition II I. Magaloni

This learning community is for anyone who would like to satisfy both English and Creative Arts core component requirements in the same semester. You don’t have to be a dancer to participate — a body that moves and a pen that writes is all that you need! Dance majors who would like to use dance to improve their ability to communicate in writing will benefit especially.

We will explore writing and dance-making as an intertwining process, using dancing and writing in developing a vivid “embodied” personal voice. You will learn strategies for moving ideas forward beyond binaries through accommodation in counterargument, audience appeal, “performative writing” strategies, and the relationship between narrative and gesture.

Classes meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:30 - 1:45pm & 2:00pm - 3:15pm.

Please note: In order to register for a learning community, you must enroll in both of the linked courses. On the registration page, enter the CRNs for both courses at the same time. If you try to register for only one of the linked courses, you will receive a registration error. For step-by-step instructions, visit the Registration Steps page.
