Peter Schifrin is a renowned sculptor and faculty member in the Academy of Art University, San Francisco.  

Admission is free.

April 21: Lux Musicae Concert

Palmetto Theatre

at 7:30pm

Lux Musicae in concert with NVC Faculty and Students. This will include Lou Harrison's Violin Concerto with Percussion Orchestra featuring soloist Steven McMillan, Basho Songs featuring soprano Madeline Elizondo, and Igor Stravinsky's A Soldier's Tale narrated by Andrew Brought.

Tickets are $4 general admission and all proceeds benefit the Jack Stone Award for New Music.



April 22: Jack Stone New Music Award

 Palmetto Theater 7 pm  

This award bestowed upon the winner of the Jack Stone Award for New Music; this national competition is open to any student enrolled in a community college within the United States. The winning student composition and two runners-up will be performed during this celebration by an ensemble of guitar, violin, and cello, led by Neal Fitzpatrick.  Reception will follow the performance. 

 Admission is Free  


In conjuction with the Jack Stone New Music Award a free master class is being offered . It will be held in the Palmetto Recital Hall 107 at 2:00pm. Students will perform music of their choosing and recieve feedback from guest artists Neal Fitzpatrick, and Yvonne Freckmann; the masterclass will also feature a question and answer session with our guest artists and the winning composers.

April 23-24: Spring Music Fest

Tickets : $4 General Admission

A two-day celebration of our students, with a different program each evening. Chamber music and voices on Wednesday, and jazz and solo instrumentalists on Thursday.
