About the Network Administrator Program Coordinator

 Bobby Yeater

Teaching Philosophy

I am really excited to be the coordinator of the Network Administrator AAS. I truly believe that the Network Administrator degree program is a great opportunity for students. My philosophy as an instructor is to present    technical information as simply and concise as possible, with real world scenarios that students can relate to. I include real world scenarios and real world problems to help foster a deeper understanding of the material, as well as the ability to accurately diagnose and quickly fix network problems. I also advise students, towards the type of IT jobs that not only fit their personality traits, but also their previous experience.

I will provide students with best practices, tips, tricks, and techniques as they relate to the IT / Networking world. We encourage students to work together through labs, including not only building networks but also diagnosing and repairing broken networks. Learning through collaboration and working in groups helps students understand the dynamics of working in teams, which is very important for job readiness.

Education

M.A. in Teaching & Learning with Technology, Western Governor’s University

B.S. in Agricultural Science, Sam Houston State University

About the Information Security & Assurance Program Coordinator

 Madison Nye

I have worked as an independent security, networking, and IT consultant for small businesses and individuals in San Antonio and Maryland since 2004. I obtained my B.B.A. in Infrastructure Assurance from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and my M.S. in Security Informatics at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. I also hold a variety of professional certifications, including Security+ SY0-301, CNSS 4011, and CNSS 4012.

As an instructor, I strive to use real-life scenarios, collaborative learning, theoretical learning, and hands-on projects to facilitate learning at all levels. It is my intention to use my experience to guide and motivate students to challenge themselves, find a niche, and work towards a rewarding and fulfilling career in information security and assurance.
