Information on Math-Related Scholarships at NVC
Northwest Vista College encourages students to apply for scholarships whenever possible. Students are encouraged to apply for the Alamo Colleges Foundation online scholarship application every year to maintain eligibility for most scholarships. Several of the scholarships are targeted specifically due to mathematics courses or developmental math. The following are a few scholarships offered.
Math Intensive Majors Scholarship
About: Specifically for students planning on enrolling in a MIM course (Pre-calculus, Calculus I, or Calculus II)
Award: $3,466 per semester
Eligibility: Enroll full-time at NVC, 3.0 GPA in mathematics and overall GPA (high school/college), demonstrate financial need, major in math/science/engineering/technology, enroll in one MIM course per semester, have not previously earned a bachelor's degree, be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

Anthony Chalkley Endowed Scholarship
Award: $300 per semester
Eligibility: Specifically for any student enrolled in developmental math courses.
Deadline: April 1st
How to apply: Students can apply for this scholarship by completing the Alamo Colleges Foundation online scholarship application which will be available to students beginning January 14th. The deadline to complete the application is April 1st.
