About the Program

Nanotech Micro 1The Nanotechnology program will prepare students for careers in emerging nanotechnology industries as entry-level nanotechnicians in research and development corporations, nanofabrication, nanobiology/agriculture, nanomedicine, nanoelectronics, and nanomaterials.

The program will give graduates the knowledge, skills and abilities to operate a variety of nanofabrication equipment, understand scientific principles and the behavior of matter at the atomic level in chemical, biological and molecular systems, and "wet" and "dry" nanotechnology applications.

If you are interested in learning more about nanotechnology, a fundamental course of "NANO1301--Introduction to Nanotechnology" is highly recommended.

About the Program Coordinator: Qiaoying Zhou

 (Statements from Students)

I have been a student for quite some time now but I can tell you that the professionalism and dedication Dr. Zhou has is unparalleled. She is always excited to teach students with a big smile on her face. She is very engaged in student success by encouraging everyone to do great in her class. I am very fortunate to have her as a teacher for this challenging physics course.

Qiaoying Zhou is a fantastic teacher and knows the subject matter very well. Very helpful with class material and other general information. She seems to be excited to be able to teach this subject and in turn, raised my enthusiasm. Look forward to the next class with her as the instructor.

Dr. Zhou is a wonderful professor. She keeps us well informed of our grades and strives to ensure we understand the material. I was very nervous going into the class and she has taught me more about Physics than I thought I would ever know. Not only does she teach us to the best of her ability and will go over any questions until EVERYONE understands, she leads by example. Just a few weeks ago she completed her doctorate. Seeing a teacher further their education is a great motivator for us as students. Not only is she expanding our knowledge she is continuing to learn and progress herself. I can't think of a better way to show students that education is the way to success than continuing your own. Dr. Zhou defines what a great teacher is and sets the standard for others to follow.

Dr. Zhou is a very positive, hard working, dedicated instructor that truly cares about her students needs and concerns. She is an excellent instructor and has a natural flare to making the classroom a fun place to learn.
