WAC Lab Writing Assistance for Scholarship Applicants

The writing lab is FREE at NVC! Use this wonderful resource!

All applications for scholarships at the colleges of the Alamo Colleges District require an essay. Drop by the WAC Lab to obtain extra help with this writing component and meet with a writing tutor to get assistance, or just simply ask for feedback. They can help you brainstorm a topic, organize your ideas, or polish a draft.

Helpful Tips:

  • Take your time, so your essay is well thought out.
  • Tell us your story and share your history and accomplishments. Tell us what your goals and future career plans hold as well. Make it personal; the main topic is YOU!
  • In the WAC Lab you can draft your essay and have someone review it.
  • Don’t forget to check your spelling and grammar!

*“Drop-in Basis” - no appt. necessary; student may come and go at anytime during regular lab hours for extra “hands-on” help.
