NVC Graduation IdolYou could be NVC’s next "Graduation Idol"

NVC is searching for the commencement speaker for May’s graduation ceremonies…

Imagine sharing the personal story of your educational journey, culminating in the success of your graduation, with your classmates, friends and family as you deliver this year’s student commencement address.

Qualifications:

Applicant must be a current NVC student in good standing who intends to apply for graduation this semester.

Instructions for applying:

Video submissions are preferred, should be approximately 3 - 5 minutes in length, and should focus on the student’s personal story about going to college, and ultimately graduating. Those stories of students who have overcome obstacles or are otherwise compelling will be given highest consideration.

Upload your video to YouTube and then send an email to NVC-GraduationIdol@alamo.edu including a link to your video, your full name, your phone number, your Banner ID, and the names of two current NVC faculty that are familiar with you and your experience. Include the words “Graduation Idol” in the subject line. All submissions are due by midnight on Thursday, April 4th.

If a student is not able to submit a video, written narratives will also be accepted and can be sent as an attachment to the same email address and instructions as above.

Deadline is April 4 by 11:59pm.

Submissions are due before midnight on Thursday, April 4th.

Selection criteria:

A panel of NVC faculty and staff will screen the applications and determine the winner, who will then become NVC’s student commencement speaker. The panel will require that finalists come in for a personal interview prior to deciding the winner.
