Student Story: Adam

Prior to coming to Northwest Vista College, Adam Alvarado, 21, had a shy disposition. He said he tended to be a late bloomer when it came to friends or romance. It wasn't until the 7th grade that he made his first friend who is now like a brother to him.

But his bashful nature changed when he came to NVC. Here, he met his first girlfriend and has befriended much of the faculty.

Adam is from San Antonio and attended O'Connor High School. Currently, Adam is working toward his associate's degree in digital gaming. After NVC, he hopes to pursue a bachelor's degree in game design at a nearby university.

In addition to taking classes here, Adam also works at NVC part-time in the Institutional Research center and previously worked at the NVC CaTS Center.
He said despite going through some learning curves, what keeps him coming back to NVC is the overall friendly atmosphere.
