Student Story: Jordy

At 19 years old, Jordy Silguero is living away from home for the first time. But instead of going to a four-year university, he’s saving money by first attending a two-year college.

Along the way, he hopes to earn an associate degree at Northwest Vista College. His goal is to be a personal fitness instructor and teach classes on exercise and being healthy.

Despite living three hours away from home in a new city, Jordy said NVC has been an excellent fit for him.

“(NVC) is a very good environment. The teachers make you feel comfortable; and getting an associate degree gives you something to fall back on.”

Jordy said after NVC, he wants to transfer to the University of Texas at San Antonio to earn a bachelor’s degree.
