V2V Advocate: Kim Pinder

Photo - Kim in BaghdadKim Pinder served in the Army from 1985-1987, the Texas Army National Guard 1987-1990, and the Air Force Reserve from 1990-2009. She retired as a Master Sergeant after 24 years of service on May 16, 2009. Over her military career she participated in many field training exercises which took her around the world to places like Egypt, Thailand, Japan, Korea, and Germany. In 1993, she volunteered to deploy to Mogadishu, Somalia in support of Operation Restore Hope. In February of 2003, she was recalled to Active Duty by Presidential Order and was deployed to Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. She served two tours overseas before being released from Active Duty in June of 2004. She has worked for Northwest Vista College in the Student Leadership & Activities department since January of 2006 and looks forward to helping her fellow veterans in any way possible.
