Critical Thinking? We say we use critical thinking but can we define it and what it means in our classroom? This five-hour workshop will be aimed at exploring critical thinking as a part of our courses, lessons, and assessments. We will also provide ideas and take-a-ways for participants to use in their own classes. We are able to give a stipend of $100 for participating adjuncts who have not previously taken a Critical Thinking Workshop. You must be present for the entire workshop to receive the stipend. We will begin at 9:00am in the College Cypress Center, room 122 and end at 2:00pm. Lunch will be provided.

As you know, the District has an initiative of working the actions with less paper whenever possible. As a result of this, Human Resources has been tasked with processing employees into the District while streamlining the hiring process through effective and efficient use of the supporting applications of Banner and PeopleLink. You had heard about this and now it's here! A New Hiring Process for the District for individuals applying via PeopleLink. What is a tedious, cumbersome process will be changing. Communication sessions will be held at the various colleges to explain this process further. Hiring managers and others involved in the hiring process are encouraged to attend.

Sexual harassment is against the law. This program is designed to provide a clear message on how to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace. Employees will learn how to identify the common forms of sexual harassment, what to do if they are the target of harassment and how to respond to and properly report harassment situations. This is mandatory training that all ACCD employees are required to attend. Notes: Unwanted sexual language or touching is illegal. Learn your rights.
