Construction Update Corner
Construction Manager at Risk for 2005 Bond Capital Improvement Program, District Wide Request for Proposal (RFP)
Background
On May 16, 2006, the Board approved the use of Construction Manager at Risk as a project delivery method that provides the best value for ACCD for ACCD CIP projects. After advertising on June 29 and July 9, 2006 in the San Antonio Express-News, proposals were received on July 25. RFP packages and two addendums were issued to 36 contractors. Thirteen (13) responses were received. A tabulation of proposals appears below. An evaluation of the proposals by a committee composed of representatives from the CIP Construction Program Managers, CIP college Architect of Record, ACCD Acquisitions and ACCD Construction Management was performed. A summary of the evaluation scoring appears below. Reference checks on the recommended firm have been made and were satisfactory. Construction costs will be established when the Guaranteed Maximum Price is arrived at and later presented to the Committee and the Board for approval.
