What is MIM?

  • A Math Intensive Major (MIM) course is a math course designed especially for those students who have chosen a math intensive major (Mathematics, Engineering, and Science)
  • Students are required to take as many as 5 to 10 upper level math courses to complete the major and who have shown a proficiency in previous math classes qualifying them to handle a deeper complexity course.
  • MIM is an academic program for math intensive majors at Northwest Vista College.
  • Every MIM student should take the sequence of the program beginning with College Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus I, II, and Calculus III, depending on their background.
