Introduction to LEED

Introduction to LEED for Contractors and Subcontractors - 4 Hours

A Learning Opportunity for Tradesmen, Contractors and Building Officials

Palo Alto College will be offering a class for men and women in construction to learn about the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) process in architectural projects. If you or your company has been invited to bid or participate in a project that requires a LEED certification, you will want to learn what will be expected of you as a Contractor, Sub-contractor, or supplier for that project.

More and more, local commercial architectural projects are requiring LEED certification. The City of San Antonio has passed a resolution that all new City projects will earn at minimum, a LEED Silver designation.

What does this mean for you? In order to submit a tight and reasonable bid, you will need to know what will be expected of you with regard to the documentation required, indoor air quality practices, construction waste management, and other processes required for all participants in a LEED project.

Although primarily intended for the construction industry, this course is also appropriate for government employees, architects, school district officials, building managers and facility owners.

The course is a four-hour course led by an experienced LEED Accredited Professional. Palo Alto College will be offering morning sessions. The tuition for the course is $75.00. For your convenience, arrangements can be made to offer the course off-campus at your facility for groups of 8 or more.

This class meets for 4 hours, one day. Total instruction time is 4 hours. Classes are held at Palo Alto College, 1400 W. Villaret, San Antonio Texas, 78224.

Instructor: Elizabeth Kertesz - Cost: $75.00
