Industrial, Safety and Quality

Program Logic Control (PLC) (216 Hours)

Programmable Logic Controllers are the brains of automated systems. These micro computers allow for precise control and safety needed in today's complex production, processing and manufacturing environments. 

The skills required in this certificate prepare the student for an entry-level career in Program Logic Control (PLC) Certification. This certificate program consists of 216 total contact hours of instruction.

ELMT 1001 PLC I - Programmable Logic Controllers (96 Hrs)

An introduction to programmable logic controllers as used in industrial environments including basic concepts, programming, applications, troubleshooting of ladder logic, and interfacing of equipment. Basic fundamentals of the PLC to include basic instructions, parameter settings, hardware components, circuit creation, sequential flow control, and function block programming.

ELMT 1001 PLCII - Programmable Logic Controllers (80 Hrs)

A continuation of concepts discussed PLC I, this course introduces the Allen-Bradley 5000 PLC to include RSLinx, basic configuration, tags, Panel View, communication, ControlNet, DeviceNet, and Industry Programming Standards. Prerequisites: ELMT 1001 PLC 1 - Programmable Logic Controllers.

ELMT 2039 PLCIII - Advanced Programmable Logic Controllers (30 Hrs)

Advanced applications of programmable logic controllers as used in industrial environments including concepts of programming, industrial applications, troubleshooting ladder logic, and interfacing to equipment.
