Licensed Insurance Agent
Insurance Sales & Service Representative Program - 40 Hours
For anyone who is interested in becoming an insurance agent, attending this course could be your first step to a new career. Palo Alto College is partnering with State Farm agents to find and train individuals prepared to help customers obtain the insurance coverage that is best suited for them. This course covering ten evenings in five weeks allows you to learn the information to prepare you to take the Texas Department of Insurance exam for State of Texas Licensure.
In addition to insurance practice basics, enabling you to recognize the most appropriate policy choices for your customers, included will be instruction in customer service, ethics, and communication skills - all essential for leading insurance agents and their team members in this competitive industry.
Although completion of this course does not guarantee employment, it can help prepare you to competitively interview for a team member position with a State Farm independent Contractor Agent*.
Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to take the State of Texas Insurance Agent's Licensing Exam administered by Prometrics. Final licensing will be based on the exam plus answers provided on an application form and a background check on all applicants. Additional information can be found on the Prometrics' Texas webpage: http://www.prometric.com/Texas/default.htm
