Welcome to the Palo Alto College website, where we hope you will enjoy learning about this very special place where our goal is to provide students with a successful experience.

Our founders created this college with the mission of providing higher education on the Southside with the goal of transferring students to universities as well as preparing them for the workforce.

In the past 25 years, we have excelled in our transfer programs. We are the community college that has the highest transfer rate in the State of Texas for Hispanics. The average transfer rate for Hispanic students in Texas is 8.9% - at Palo Alto College it is 38% for Hispanics.

In the workforce areas, we have a renewed commitment and have strengthened our programs considerably in the past decade. We have also added new programs in Administrative Computer Technology, Aviation Management, Criminal Justice, , Health Professions, Logistics, Nursing, Teacher Education, and Turfgrass & Golf Course Management.

Palo Alto College has been known as the South Side's "Heart of the Community" and has educated thousands of students who have become successful.

In the 21st century, our commitment is not only to be known as the Heart of the Community, but also the "Economic Engine" of the South Side. We invite you to enroll so that you too can say with pride "I am a success story for Palo Alto College."
