Blackboard Vista Training Information
What is Blackboard Vista?
Blackboard Vista is the learning management system (LMS) that the Alamo Colleges are now using to support its web-based courses. The LMS will
host online, blended (hybrid), and web-enhanced courses that are offered at
the colleges. The system facilitates delivery of course materials, communication
tools, assessment tools and course management tools.
Is faculty training available?
Palo Alto College offers training to all faculty – full-time and adjunct
members. The training is offered in two different versions:
Full-Track Training is available for instructors who are seeking internet certification.
Fast-Track Training
is for faculty who are already internet
certified and/or taught internet classes. Training and
registration for only one session below is needed.
Training lasts
6 to 8 weeks. Faculty must prepare at a minimum
3 weeks course content to have their course reviewed and
approved for delivery in Blackboard Vista. Faculty must be aware
that they will not be allowed to deliver courses within Blackboard
Vista prior to completing training.
Do you teach an Internet class?
Currently all faculty who are teaching online courses using other than Blackboard Vista delivery/learning systems need to switch to Blackboard Vista by Spring 2010.
Both
training tracks include tutelage of using Blackboard
Vista. For Fall 2009, Palo Alto College's Instructional Innovation
Center will offer training sessions during the semester. The
training session schedule(s) are as follows:
