For a faster response time for on campus police
services at Palo Alto College, we have created example scenarios
for all faculty, staff, students, and community to use as
a guide contacting the approprate personnel
in the event campus police services are needed. In many
instances campus police
officer(s) are out on patrol, and there is the possibility
that an officer or clerk contact at the PAC DPS office may
not be possible. In
this is case we recommend that all personnel rely on the
24 hour police dispatch services for
assistance. Please use the following information as a guide
for the appropriate type of assistance. We welcome any comments,
questions, concerns about our police services at Palo Alto
College.
Emergency Alamo-DPS Police Services

Scenarios for Emergency services:
- Crime(s) in progress (Thefts, assaults, robberies, Visible
carrying of weapons, fights, Property Crimes, etc).
- Severe on campus injuries/illnesses.
- Activated fire alarm.
- Fires
- Child locked in vehicle under extreme heat.
Non-Emergency alamo-DPS Police Services

Scenarios for Non-Emergency services:
- Police Officer needed for field interviews or to generate a
police report (Offense, Incident, Non-Injury Traffic Accident(s),
Non-life threatening on campus injuries/illnesses, etc).
- Crime(s) not in progress.
- Traffic/Parking Enforcement.
- Suspicious Person(s).
- On campus Police escorts.
- Faculty/Staff requiring building/office/classroom access and
securing accessed areas.
- Courtesy assistance for vehicles (locked keys, battery boost,
inflate flat tires, etc.).
- Non-life threatening on campus injuries/illnesses.
- On campus safety violations.
- Complaints (Faculty/Staff/DPS Personnel).
- Scheduled on campus events.

- Status of a campus citation appeal form.
- A request for a copy of a filed police report.
- Issuance of a temporary parking decal.
