What is Industrial Technology?

As automated manufacturing evolves, a highly-trained workforce is needed to integrate new technologies with other standard technologies. Industrial Technology merges new technologies with advanced manufacturing processes to streamline the production of goods.

In the past, companies required trained technicians in very specialized fields. Today, they require technicians trained across many different areas, including electrical, electronic, fluid power, and mechanical devices.

Palo Alto College’s Industrial Technology program prepares students to enter the growing robotics and industrial automation fields. Students get hands-on experience with the operation, calibration, and design of the automated systems used in the manufacturing, assembly, and processing industries.

Why choose Industrial Technology?

San Antonio has a large and diverse manufacturing industry with a representation of every major sector of U.S. manufacturing. Local opportunities include working with electronics, energy, aerospace, food, water treatment, chemicals, equipment, automobiles, and diversified products.
