Palo Alto College Children's Library
The Children's Library provides print, media and electronic
information resources for children 12 years and younger. These
resources represent a wide variety of opinions and interests that
reflect the diversity of the library's users.
Internet & World Wide Web
POLICIES
Internet/World Wide Web access is provided to expand the scope of
information available. Since the Internet is a global electronic
network that is constantly changing, the library cannot guarantee the
accuracy of any information or be responsible for the content.
While the Internet does have some excellent websites for kids, there
are also other websites that some parents and guardians may deem
inappropriate for their child(ren). The library does not monitor and
has no control over the information accessed through the Internet and
cannot be held responsible for its content.
Therefore, PARENTS OR GUARDIANS--NOT THE
LIBRARY OR ITS STAFF--ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INTERNET INFORMATION
SELECTED AND/OR ACCESSED BY THEIR CHILDREN.
Parents are advised to familiarize themselves with the Internet and
supervise their children's Internet sessions.
The library
faculty/staff will assist Internet users by offering instructional
sessions on the Internet, book marking and hotlinking sites for kids
and parents on its homepage, and making information about the Internet
available (including safety and censorship issues, freedom of
information and other topics related to Internet access).
